'Taken' director to attend Fajr International Film Festival

French director of English action thriller films 'Taken 2' and 'Taken 3' will attend the 36th Fajr International Film Festival in Iran.

Director Olivier Megaton will attend Iran's Fajr International Film Festival in April, organizers of the event announced on Tuesday.

He will hold workshops on action cinema at the festival.

Film school students from at least 50 countries have applied to attend the workshops that will be held in the Dar-ul-Fonun educational section of the event.

Iranian experts are examining applications to select 55 students from overseas film schools for the discovery camp.

Dar-ul-Fonun was initiated in the 34th edition of Fajr to discover emerging talents among film students in Iran and other countries.

Presided over by Iranian director Reza Mirkarimi, the 36th edition of Fajr International Film Festival is slated for April 19-27, 2018 in the Iranian capital of Tehran.
